The College of Liberal Arts would like to recognize our faculty and students who received School of Global Environmental Sustainability (SoGES) awards for the 2013-2014 academic year. SoGES awards offer funding and training for faculty and students who are contributing their knowledge to sustainability science solutions. The mission of SoGES is to catalyze cross-disciplinary interactions and understanding on global sustainability science and solutions by bringing together and supporting faculty, researchers, and students.

COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS FACULTY FELLOWSHIPS AND GRANTS

Faculty at Colorado State University were awarded with fellowships and grants from SoGES through the Resident Fellows program and the Global Challenges Research Team program. SoGES Resident Fellows are a select group of CSU faculty members who engage in scholarly, creative research and problem solving consistent with the mission of the school. The fellowships provide unique opportunities for faculty to accelerate progress in research designed to meet global environmental challenges, and to engage in the academic life of SoGES and its affiliates. Faculty also have the opportunity to become Principle Investigators on SoGES Global Challenges Research Teams, engaging in research that shows potential for providing great understanding towards transformational outcomes for real-world problems.

COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP FELLOWS

SoGES selects 20 Ph.D. candidates and Postdoctoral Fellows every year to be Global Sustainability Leadership Fellows. The Global Sustainability Leadership Fellows Program cultivates future innovators and thought leaders in environmental sustainability issues. Five of the fellowships were awarded to College of Liberal Arts students. Fellows will receive training and support from SoGES on collaboration and communications to help build their professional careers.
