Please congratulate Dr. Anita Alves Pena on being appointed the Interim Chair of the Department of Economics, effective July 1, 2017.

This is Dr. Pena’s 11th year at CSU. She came to CSU in Fall 2017 from Stanford University where she received her MA in Economics in 2004 and PhD in Economics in 2007. Dr. Pena was the department’s Coordinator of Graduate Studies for the 2016-2017 term. She is also CSU’s first representative to the Rocky Mountain Federal Statistical Research Data Center Consortium which is a new collaboration of several institutions in this region for access to proprietary federal data for academic research. In addition to her roles in Economics, Dr. Pena has a faculty affiliation with the Colorado School of Public Health and is a Research Associate with the new interdisciplinary Regional Economic Development Institute at CSU.
