We are delighted to welcome two new colleagues to the Department of Economics at Colorado State University this fall. Dr. Mo Alloush and Dr. Marwil Dávila-Fernandez join us as Assistant Professors, bringing fresh perspectives and vibrant research agendas that will enrich both our undergraduate and graduate programs.

Dr. Mo Alloush comes to CSU after six years on the faculty at Hamilton College. His research focuses on development economics and applied microeconomics, with a particular emphasis on poverty dynamics, mental health, and cash transfer programs. His recent work combines experimental and survey data to investigate how households respond to shocks, how the timing of cash transfers programs can have important effects on children, and how policy can mitigate barriers to economic mobility. In the classroom, Dr. Alloush brings a passion for engaging students in empirical methods and using the theoretical and empirical tools economics has to offer to improve policy and better the world.

Dr. Marwil Dávila-Fernandez joins CSU after two years on the faculty at Bucknell University and three years at the University of Siena in Italy. His research lies at the intersection of macroeconomics, political economy, and development, with a focus on the dynamics of inequality, growth, and structural change. His published work has examined topics ranging from income distribution and long-run growth models to the impact of industrial and labor market policies in emerging economies. Dr. Dávila-Fernandez is especially interested in connecting theoretical modeling with pressing policy debates, making his contributions highly relevant to both scholarship and practice.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Alloush and Dr. Dávila-Fernandez to Fort Collins and look forward to their contributions to our department’s teaching, research, and community engagement.
