Welcome to the Department of Economics at Colorado State University, a vibrant intellectual community within the state’s land-grant university. Only 60 miles from Denver and located in the scenic foothills of Colorado’s Front Range, the department offers a high quality education at the relatively affordable cost of a public university.

Housed in the College of Liberal Arts, our department features an outstanding faculty of internationally recognized scholars in fields such as environmental economics and sustainability, economic development, international economics, political economy, public economics and regional economics. We strive to provide a supportive yet demanding learning environment where our students prepare for careers in the private sector, the government, or graduate school.

Our undergraduate offer includes a major and a minor in economics, an economics concentration within the major in data science, and certificates in economic studies, international economics, and macroeconomics. We also offer a PhD in Economics, one of the oldest of such programs in the college, with an excellent placement record.

Graduates of our undergraduate and graduate programs have become successful as central bankers, professional economists in academia, government and private sectors, as well as entrepreneurs.

Colorado State University and the city of Fort Collins provide an amazing learning environment with state-of-the art facilities, accomplished faculty, and spectacular outdoor amenities at your fingertips. We hope you will join us for your education journey.
