Associate Professor Niroj Bhattarai has received the Bimson Humanities Seminar grant to lead a summer professional development seminar for Colorado high school teachers who teach economics. Each year, a single Bimson Humanities Seminar grant is awarded by the College of Liberal Arts.

The two-day seminar will be held on CSU’s campus in Fort Collins in June 2026 and will bring together social studies and humanities teachers from districts across Colorado, including rural and mountain communities. The program will support teachers who deliver college-level economics courses in high school settings, including dual and concurrent enrollment and Advanced Placement.
The seminar will focus on economic and financial literacy, real-world applications of economic concepts, and effective approaches to teaching principles of economics. Teachers selected for the program will be designated Bimson Economics Scholars, a distinction conferred by the CSU Department of Economics.
The Bimson Humanities Seminar program supports collaboration between CSU faculty and K–12 educators across the humanities and social sciences and aligns with CSU’s land-grant mission of statewide educational engagement.
