The department is frequently able to offer Graduate Teaching Assistantships to well-qualified incoming domestic students (with priority to PhD students), with the expectation of continuing support through the normal duration of the degree program, conditional on satisfactory academic progress. Assistantships include a monthly stipend for the 9-month academic year, and a full tuition scholarship. Occasional summer support may also be available. All domestic applicants who meet the deadline are automatically considered for assistantships; there is no need to make a special request or application.
All financial support is in the form of Graduate Teaching Assistantships. Duties require fluency in spoken English as a basis for effective classroom teaching. International students who meet this standard and who wish to be considered for a GTA should address their English language proficiency in their application personal statement.
