The Department of Economics Seminar Series for the Spring 2020 term continues Friday, 3/6/20 at 3:00 pm in Behavioral Sciences room 103. The seminars are free and open to everyone.

March 6th‘s speaker is Professor Karen Pittel from the University of Munich. Pittel is also the Director of the ifo Center for Energy, Climate, and Resources. Her main fields of focus are energy, exhaustible resources, growth and sustainability. Pittel is presently a visiting scholar here at CSU, working with Professors Terry Iverson and Ed Barbier on research related to renewable energy.

Pittel did her undergraduate studies in Economics and Business Administration at Georg-August-University of Göttingen. She spent a year in graduate school studying Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her graduate studies back at Georg-August-University of Göttingen.

The title of Pittel’s seminar is: “Policy Options for the Decarbonization of the EU Power Sector .”
