- Academic Support Center, Economics, and English
Sarah Wernsing is an Academic Success Coordinator (ASC) in the College of Liberal Arts and works with English and Economics majors. Her goals as an advisor are to help students transition to the university, get the most out of their education, and prepare for their next steps after graduation. She also teaches online LB380A: the Liberal Arts and Meaningful Work, a course about connecting a major to career preparation. Sarah believes that studying the Liberal Arts makes us more compassionate, engaged people, and she loves to connect with students and others at CSU who are seeking to find their place and affect change in the world around them.
Sarah has a B.A. in English from Roanoke College in Virginia and an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to working in higher education, Sarah taught English in Bratislava, Slovakia, worked in a bookstore, and directed a youth and children’s program. After doing her M.A., she taught composition at the University of Northern Colorado and Front Range Community, tutored students in the FRCC Writing Center, and worked in the CSU Registrar’s Office prior to taking her current position.
When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, chasing her two kids, cooking, eating chocolate, and writing.
